. Tras el asesinato de su familia, Abe Dale (Nathan Fillion) intenta suicidarse. Antes de ser reanimado por los médicos, Abe vive una experiencia cercana a la muerte, en la que vislumbra una brillante luz blanca. A partir de entonces, un extraño poder le acompaña. Abe es capaz de percibir una inquietante aura en las personas que están a punto de morir. Al intentar salvarles de su destino, descubre que tendrá que pagar un alto precio por interferir en el orden natural de la vida y la muerte.
