. Will es un doctor que está tratando de buscar una cura al Alzheimer, una enfermedad que afecta a su padre. Él trabaja con monos tratando de encontrar un virus benigno que haga recuperar la actividad cerebral. Después de que cierren su investigacion, Will decide llevarse a su hogar a un chimpance con el que ha estado experimentando. Se trata de un simio muy inteligente que cada vez evoluciona más y más. Tiempo después este simio adquirirá la habilidad de hablar y será el cabecilla de un ejércitio de simios que significarán el fin de la humanidad.
